Wendell C. Milzof New Kensington, PAWendell C. Milz, 95, of New Kensington, PA. Died on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at West Haven Nursing Home, Washington Township, PA. Wendell was born on February 21, 1918 in Bedford, OH to the late Ivan J. and Lottie Collins Milz. He graduated from Bedford High School, Ohio and received his BA degree at Hiram College, Ohio. He was a research chemist at Alcoa Research in Upper Burrell Township retiring in 1978 after 38 years of service. While at Alcoa he developed many patents. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington, the Sigma Xi Fraternity of Research Engineers, and the Pittsburgh Chemistry Club. He enjoyed making model airplanes, crafting furniture, fishing and listening to big band music. He was a loyal friend and selflessly devoted to the well being of his family. He will be remembered as a grace-filled, compassionate man of integrity with a beautiful smile in response to all delight this life offered. He is survived by his wife of 70 years: Ruth Schuller Milz, his children: Deborah (Richard) Simpson of Olean, NY, Cynthia (Charles) Yerrick of Morrisville, VT and Rev. Paul M. Milz of Montgomery, NY; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and a sister: Laverne Skillcorn of Bedford, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson: Aron Milz. A celebration of the life of Wendell Milz will held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11 AM at the United Presbyterian Church, 601 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068, with the Reverend Colin Yuckman, officiating.
