Valjean BeacomFormerly of Fawn Township, PAValjean 'Jean' Beacom, 93, of Kittanning, PA, formerly of Fawn Township, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Armstrong County Health Center, Kittanning, PA.Mrs. Beacom was born on Monday, May 7, 1917 in Tarentum, PA to the late Roy D. and Olive V. Woodrow Torrence. Jean was a waitress in the Tarentum area for years and she retired from G. C. Murphy in the late 1970's. She was a member of the Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church of Fawn Township. Jean enjoyed picnics, playing cards, bingo and family gatherings.She is survived by her children: Thomas R. (Shirley) Beacom of Pasadena, MD and Janet M. Kutsch of Kittanning; a sister: Melva B. Jones of Tarentum; 9 grandchildren: Marci (Fred) Scholze of Tarentum, Leighann (Dennis) Beacom of Worthington, Scott and Keith Beacom of Pasadena, MD, Wm. R. (Melinie) Paholich of Kittanning, Vicky (Donald) Beatty of Kittanning, Cheryl (Joseph) Brochetti of Kittanning and Michael (Lori) Paholich of Natrona Heights; also 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by her extended family: James 'Jamie' (Sherri) Kutsch of Home, PA and Jeffrey (Beth) Kutsch of Faquay-Varina, NCShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: James F. 'Fred' Beacom (December 20, 1979); her son: James 'Lee' Beacom and her brother: Darrel Torrence and a grandson: Brian Beacom. Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA (724-224-7730), where services will be at 11 AM on Monday, with the Reverend John Gehring-Anders assisted by Rev.
