Teresia (Naretto) Patterson, 98, formerly of New Kensington, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Bayberry Court, Lower Burrell, PA.

Teresia was born March 6, 1915 in Vandergrift, PA to the late Pietro and Rita Garda Naretto.  She is the widow of James Patterson, Jr., who was a long time member of the New Kensington-Arnold School Board. He died on December 24, 1987.  They loved to dance and in 1935 won a dance contest as the King and Queen of Rhythm, and received silver loving cups.  She was of the Catholic faith.  She enjoyed gardening and sewing.  She created beautiful tatted doilies, snowflakes, crocheted beaded necklaces and presented hand-made quilts as wedding gifts to each grandchild.

She is survived by her children: Katherine Kersten of Pittsburgh and James (Philomena) Patterson of Lower Burrell; her grandchildren: David (Kathleen) Zamperini, Mar-Jean Zamperini, Danielle (Robert) Quinlan, Charmaine (Flynn) McCall; her great grandsons: Anthony and Brady McCall: her sisters: Erma Milito and Emma Sicari; her cousin: Joe Garda and several nephew and nieces.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sister: Antoinette Varano; her son in law: Don Kersten; her brothers in law: Paul Varano and Art Milito; her sister and brother in law: Helen and Frank Sehovski and her mother in law: Katie Mandecki.

The family thanks the staff of Bayberry Court, Gateway Hospice and Sharon Kuth for their loving care and Msgr. Begolly for his comforting words and prayers.

Family and friends are invited from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Friday, August 9, at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA  15068 (724-335-1951), where a blessing service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 10, with the Reverend Monsignor Michael J.
