Ruth E. (Chaney) Hartman

Ruth E. (Chaney) Hartman, 91, of Hempfield Township formerly of Washington Township, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014, at Hempfield Manor, Hempfield Township, PA.  She was born on December 22, 1922 in Verona, PA to the late George Chaney and Ruth B. Pyle Chaney McMahon.  She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Washington Township where she was a member of the Women’s Association of the church and was a prior member of the Washington Township Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children: Edward W. (Edna) Hartman of Washington Twp., PA and Elizabeth A. (Jim) Montgomery of Mt. Pleasant, PA; 4 grandchildren: Michael (Renata) Montgomery of King of Prussia, PA, Jesse Hartman of Vandergrift, PA, William Hartman of Washington Twp, PA and Crystal Hartman of Texas; 4 great grandchildren: Claire, Mariyah, Ian and Alex; nieces: Ethel Jean Brewer and Patricia Dotto and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence E. Hartman (1955).  

Family and friends are invited from 10:00 – 12:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27, at the Union Presbyterian Church, 656 Route 380, Murrysville, PA  15668, where service will begin at 12:00 PM with the Reverend John Simpson, officiating.  Private burial will follow at the Poke Run Cemetery, Washington Twp., PA.
