Robert L. Veitch, 82, of Natrona Heights, PA, died on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, PA.
Mr. Veitch was born July 29, 1932 in Plum Borough, PA to the late William E. and Margaret L. Sherm Veitch. He was a life long resident of Plum Borough until the last five months of his life. He served our country in the Army during the Korean War in the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles). He retired from PPG Industries, Springdale plant, in 1994. He was a life long member of the Unity Presbyterian Church, Plum Borough.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Varity Verner Sipes-Veitch; 2 daughters: Lynne (James) Robinson of McCandless Twp., PA and Dr. Lisa C. Veitch and her companion Daniel Wilcox of Alexandria, VA; 2 grandchildren: Ben and Daniel Robinson; 4 step children: Merle (Karen) of East Liverpool, OH, Linda of Greensburg, PA, Thomas (Jessica) of Apollo, PA and Varity Joy (David) of Killeen, TX; 5 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren and a sister: Doris Repp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 35 years: Elva J. Myers Veitch (April 11, 1991); and a brother: William Veitch.
Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Monday, October 13, at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951) where services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday with his pastor, the Reverend Frank DeLuce and the Reverend David Carlisle of the Springdale United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
