Richard L. McVay, 79, of Natrona Heights, PA, died on Thursday, March 6, 2014 in his home.

Richard was born on November 20, 1934 in Brackenridge, PA to the late Thomas and Frances Moorhead McVay.  He served in the Army during the Korean War.  He worked as a Automatic Pilot Plant Operator at Gulf Oil in Harmar retiring in 1982 after 48 years of service. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Brackenridge. He was also a member of the Tarentum Masonic Lodge, the New Kensington Eagles, the New Kensington VFW and the Natrona Heights YMCA.  He enjoyed fishing at his camp in Pymatuning and watching westerns.

He is survived by his children:   Richard B. (Cindy) McVay of Witchatau Falls, TX and Pamela M. (James E.) Fifer of Chesapeake, VA; 1 grandson: Mathew C. McVay and 1 brother: Donald McVay of New Kensington and his companion: Mae Baluch of 4 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Barbara Ann Eaker McVay (4/9/2010); 2 sisters: Dorothy Smith and Virginia Mitchell and a brother: Thomas McVay.

Family and friends are invited from 6-8 PM on Monday, March 10 to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA (724-224-7730), where services will be at 11 AM on Tuesday with the Reverend Larry Pawson, officiating.
