Richard E. GneitingFormerly of Springdale, PARichard E. Gneiting, 91, of West Deer Township, formerly of Springdale, PA, died on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.Mr. Gneiting was born on January 3, 1920 in Natrona, PA to the late Emil and Anna Birkner Gneiting. He was a decorated veteran serving in the Army during WW II. He was a Postal Supervisor for the US Post Office retiring in 1971 after 25 years of service. He was a life member of the VFW and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.He is survived by his son: Richard R. (Naomi) Gneiting of Gibsonia; 2 grandchildren: Richard W. (Crystal) Gneiting and Heidi A. (Michael) Ferman; and 1 great grandchild: Shelby Ferman; and a brother: Ed Gneiting of Palm Coast, FL.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Louise E. Lammay Gneiting (1989); his daughter: Karen Dean; his brother: Emil Gneiting and his 3 sisters: Martha Peters, Amelia Messineo and Anna Ehrman. Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA (724-224-7730), where services will be at 11AM on Saturday, with the Reverend Greg Krowitz, officiating.
