Richard W. “Dick” Barr, 95, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Brookwood Gardens in Homestead, FL. Born on Sunday, April 27, 1930, in Brackenridge, PA, Dick was the beloved son of the late Wendell and Mary Ellen (Fye) Barr.
A proud and dedicated electrician technician, Dick spent his career at Westinghouse, where he retired in 1993, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and integrity.
Dick’s life was defined by faith, family, and service. A devoted member of Abundant Joy Fellowship Church, he lived his beliefs through action—volunteering in prison ministry, riding with the Christian Motorcycle Association, and bringing joy to countless children as Santa Claus at Pittsburgh Mills Mall for ten memorable years.
He had a zest for life and a love for adventure. Whether traveling the country, riding motorcycles, or marveling at aircraft, Dick found joy in motion and meaning in connection. He was a proud Jaycee and a man who cherished time with his family above all.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons: Richard L. Barr of Homestead, FL, and John Barr of Coconut Grove, FL; four grandchildren: Sean, Amanda, Natalie, and Jordan; seven great-grandchildren: Lydia, Cheyenne, Lily, Gwen, Brienne, Cora, and Liam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia L. Hilliard Barr, (Jan. 2007), and his sister Nancy.
Dick Barr’s life was a testament to faith, generosity, and the power of a warm heart. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
