Paul L. Schroeder, 88, of Buffalo Township, PA, formerly of Paducah, KY, died on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Elmcroft of Saxonburg, Saxonburg, PA.
Mr. Schroeder was born on January 1, 1925 in Natrona Heights, PA to the late Charles H. and Martha Amschler Schroeder. He was a graduate of Har-Brack High School class of 1942. He then received his degree in Chemical Engineering from Pittsburgh University in 1947. He was a veteran in the Army during WW II. He worked as a Chemical Engineer at Pennwalt Corp., Calvert City, KY, retiring in 1986 after 39 years of service. He was a member of the St. Paul’s German Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tarentum. He enjoyed gardening, reading, old movies and traveling.
He is survived by his children: Mary Elizabeth Schroeder of Buffalo Township and Paul David Schroeder of San Antonio, TX; a granddaughter: Adria Schroeder; and a sister: Martha E. “Marty” Finley of Natrona Heights.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Dorothy Hefner Schroeder (Nov. 16, 2002); and a granddaughter: Brianna Schroeder.
Family and friends are invited from 7-9 PM on Thursday, Sept. 5 and from 10 AM till 11 AM on Friday to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA (724-224-7730), where services will be at 11 AM on Friday with the Reverend Gary Koch, officiating.
