Patricia L. Wessel, 82, of Buffalo Township, PA, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.  Pat was born July 12, 1933 in Apollo, PA to the late Clarence and Ruth (Berry) Kison.  She graduated from Tarentum High School in 1951 and worked at Alcoa and Gulf Research and Armor Floral Shop before becoming a homemaker.  She was a member of the Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing with the church choir and helping with the youth of the church.   She enjoyed cross stitching.

Pat is survived by her husband of 60 years: Jay A. Wessel; 2 children: Todd A. Wessel of Valdosta, GA and Trish (Don) Jones, of New Bethlehem, PA; 2 step grandchildren; and 1 brother: Jack Kison of Buffalo Twp., PA.   In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her brother: Fred Kison.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures…Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.  Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is thy sting?  O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.  I Corinthians 15; 1-4 & 50-58
