Miss Mary “Mae” Ray

Of Lower Burrell, PA

Mary “Mae” Ray, 95 of Lower Burrell, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Mary was born on Tuesday, February 1, 1927 in New Kensington to the late Wilmer “Bart” and Madeleine Brassine Ray.  She was a lifelong member of Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lower Burrell. Before retirement she worked as a secretary at ALCOA, as well as Gimbel’s Department Store and Swinston Company of Pittsburgh.  She loved to read her Bible, embroider and practice her short hand.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Wilmer and Richard Ray , her sister, Dorothy Brackin her sister in law, Carol Ray, her niece Rebecca Ray, her nephew, Robert Brackin and her great nephew Joshua Stein.  She is survived by her nephews John (Jamie) and Tom (Judy) Brackin. Her niece Barbara Williamson. Her nieces Roberta (Harvey) Smith and Cherie (Bob) Jones and nephew Richard (Tammy) Ray.  Great nieces Stephanie Spaw (Chris), Jessica Brackin, Amy Zadrovitz (Sean), Chelsea Royer (Casey) and Emily Smith. Great nephews Justin Stein, Adam Jones (Karen), and Greg Ray. Great great nieces Ava Gray, Taylor Mae Jones and Aubrey Spaw and one great great nephew Gage Stein.  

As per Mae’s wishes all services were held privately.  Burial took place at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA. Arrangements are under the care of the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951).
