Mary DoelfelOf Oakmont, PA Mary Doelfel, 98, of Oakmont, died Thursday, January 7, 2010. Mary was born on Monday, October 23, 1911 in Barton, Ohio to the late John and Anna Moroz Danchik. She resided in Pittsburgh until moving to Frazer Township, where she and her husband owned the Paul and Mary Doelfel General Store for twenty years. They spent ten years in Florida before moving to Natrona Heights in 1984. In 1991, Mary lost her loving husband of 55 years, Paul Doelfel. While in Pittsburgh Mary served as a Republican Committeewoman and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid gardener, sharing vegetables and flowers with friends and neighbors. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading, music, and crocheting and was a superb cook. Mary's enthusiasm for life was contagious. She laughed often and always found the best in others. She touched many lives and will be remembered for her humility, strong faith, and compassion. Mary was a wonderful mother. The memory of her beautiful smile and generous spirit will remain with her family forever. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings John, Stephen, George, Margaret, Julia, and Helen. She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann, Evelyn, and Paula, two grandchildren Kimberly and Erik, great-granddaughter Aleksey, siblings Ann, Mickey, and William, sisters-in-law Helen and Claudia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730). A private visitation and service was held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 and interment at Mount Airy Cemetery followed with the Reverend Bramwell Kjellgren officiating.
