Lois Jean Fullerton, 91, left us to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 24, 2013. She was a life-long resident of Natrona Heights, PA. She passed to her Heavenly home at Concordia Lutheran Lund Center where she had been undergoing therapy since mid-November. She died of complications related to congestive heart failure from which she had suffered for many years.
“Jean” was born on May 9, 1922 in Natrona Heights to Orr Wallace and Rachel Mae Austin. She graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1940. She was married to William P. Fullerton for 71 years before his passing on October 13, 2013. She was receptionist at Internal Medicine Associates in Tarentum for many years until her retirement.
She loved visits with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the lights of her life. She also enjoyed being entertained by the birds and squirrels from her front porch and from her sitting room window.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Kathy (William) Keener of Simpsonville, SC, and Susan (John) Burger of Butler, PA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Sharon (Wojtek) McNeeley-Kruk, Jennifer Keener, David (Cathy) Keener, Nancy Burger, John Burger, Tom (Leah) Burger, Gretchen (Jason) Lavery, & Emily (Jonathan) Smock. and her 13 great-grandchildren, Rose, Olivia, Maxine, Lana, Sabrina, Isaac, Carter, Miles, Andrea, Rachel, Maggie, William & Marissa.
She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Mary Johnston, Loretta McKibben, Lethia Stamm, Sophrona Bowman, & Betty Nestor-Kline; and brothers Floyd, Alonzo, & John Austin.
Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Saturday December 28 at 1:00 pm
by Rev. Justin Judy. Visitation will precede the service at noon. Burial and committal will follow at Mt. Airy Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited from 12 Noon – 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 28 at the Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065, where services will follow at 1:00 PM with the Reverend Justin Judy will officiate.
