Laura M. CowferFormerly of Russellton and Sarver, PALaura M. 'Peg' Cowfer, 89, died on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Harmar Village, Harmar Township, PA.Peg was born on June 23, 1923 in Plum Borough, PA to the late John and Laura Walker Dickson. She worked as a kiln operator for Saxonburg Ceramics for over 20 years. She enjoyed bingo, jigsaw puzzles, reading, crocheting, playing cards and especially being with her family. She is survived by her children: Fred (Bonnie) Cowfer of Verona, PA and Norma (Wayne) Waugaman of New Kensington, PA; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; and a sister: Agnes Cornmesser of Washington Township, PA.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Frederick O. Cowfer (May 11, 1997); a daughter: Ethel Russo; 2 sisters: Nancy Dickson and Bessie Shrum; and 3 brothers: Billy, Roy and James Dickson. Family and friends are invited from 2- 4 and 7-9 PM on Friday at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951), where services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday with the Reverend Jeff Youell, officiating.
