Justine Louise (Thorne) France

Justine Louise (Thorne) France, 89, of Fawn Township, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at East Deer Personal Care Home, Creighton, PA.  Louise was born on Saturday, August 10, 1935 in Tarentum, PA to the late Herbert K. and Agnes Marie Stull Thorne.  

Louise graduated from Har-Brack High School and went on to be a homemaker.  She was a member of the Center Methodist Church, Fawn Twp. and spent countless years volunteering at Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley. Louise had a deep love for all animals, especially horses, which led her to a 20 year entrepreneurial endeavor owning and operating “Just a Mere” boarding farm. Louise owned numerous pets throughout her life and enjoyed reading and painting; she even served as a fashion model in her more formative years.  

Louise leaves behind to cherish her memory her 3 children: Paul (Pam) France of Natrona Heights, David (Terri) France of Natrona Heights, and Mary (Joseph) Haubeck of Marietta, GA; 10 grandchildren: Jamie, Jason, Dana, Paul Jr., Sydney, Brandi, Joseph Jr., Madison, Jessica and Josh; 13 great-grandchildren; her cousin and friend, Arlene Binner; and her longtime friend Becky Merritts-Callahan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Edgar W. France, III (7/5/2008) and her siblings: James Thorne and Genevieve Saley.
