June Almeda Roweof Natrona Heights, PAJune Almeda Rowe, 90, of Natrona Heights, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Highland Center, Brackenridge, PA.June was born on August 26, 1921 in Brackenridge, PA. June was the second daughter to the late George B. and Laura E. Berkes Rowe. June graduated from Har-Brack High School Class of 1939. She managed Rowe's Confectionery while attending Maison-Fredericks Beauty Academy. Upon graduating she managed two beauty salons, one in Etna and one in Millvale. In 1941 June went into nurses training at Allegheny Valley Hospital graduating in 1944. June was employed at Allegheny Valley Hospital as Nursing Supervisor and then became the Assistant Arts Instructor. She then worked at Harmarville Rehab. Center, while studying at Kenny Rehab. Center in Minneapolis, MN. She also worked at Oakmont Residence and the New-Ken Miner's Clinic. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Natrona Heights where she was a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir. She is survived by her 2 sisters: Dorothy A. Rowe with whom she resided and Roxie Rowe Leightner of North Carolina. She was a very good Aunt to her 6 nephews and 4 nieces. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Ned Rowe (1999) and a sister: Alice Rowe Beegan (april 30, 2010). Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday at the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730). Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Calvary Baptist Church, 1207 Pacific Avenue, Natrona Heights, PA 15065, with the Reverend Larry Pawson, officiating.
