John E. “Shreck” Shreckengost, 79, of Natrona Heights, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning, PA. Shreck was born on September 30, 1943 in Eddyville, PA to the late Ormel John and Clara Agnes McGaughey Schreckengost. He was a graduate of Red Bank High School and worked as a mechanic for Ryder Truck Rental retiring after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Outdoor Life Lodge of Fawn Township, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and he specially loved to be around his grandchildren. Shreck also loved doing small engine repairs. Shreck leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons: John W. (Sheila) Shreckengost of New Kensington and James A. (Annette) Shreckengost of Adrian, PA; his 3 grandchildren: Katie, Kyle and Brady Shreckengost and a great grandchild: Kora Shreckengost and his sister: Eunice Young of Kittanning, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Carol Jean (Mogle) Shreckengost (November 23, 1986); his son: Richard D. Shreckengost (2002); 2 brothers: Fred and Ronnie Shreckengost and a sister: Delores Smith.
Family and friends are invited from 5-7 PM on Saturday, October 22, 2022 to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730), where services will follow at 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
