James L. Nold, 68, of  Natrona Heights, Harrison Twp.,  passed away on  Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Harrison Twp. He was born March 11, 1947 in Natrona Heights, Harrison Twp., to the late Earl Leonard and Doris Catherine (Brown) Nold and was a resident of Harrison Twp. all of his life.

Jim graduated from Har-Brack in 1965 prior to beginning his career in 1978 with the Harrison Township Police. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1995 and retired after 34 years of dedicated service on December 2, 2012 as Patrol Sergeant.  Jim was Protestant by faith, a member of the FOP, lifetime social member of the VFW Post 894, Natrona Heights, and the NRA.  His hobbies included golfing, especially at his condo in Myrtle Beach, SC, where he enjoyed spending time; he was an avid hunter, enjoyed a great joke, playing basketball, following all the local sports teams, especially the Steelers, and spending time with all of his grandchildren but he shared a special bond with his grandson Joshua.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Pam (Hartzel) Nold of 45 years, whom he married on August 1, 1969; his children, Kim (Mike) Nicastro, Paula (Jamie) Bargerstock, James Jr. (Marci) Nold, all of Natrona Heights, Harrison Twp.; his grandchildren, Shannon (Bob) Selinger, Kelsie, Cody and Cory Nicastro and Joshua and Jenna Nold; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Dominic, Cierra, Emeric, Xavier, Layla, and Augustin Selinger; his two sisters, Shirley (Ralph) Jenkins, of Cadogen and Jo-Ann Cravener of Natrona Heights and numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat that he affectionately called sweetie.

In addition to his parents mentioned above, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas E. Nold and his brother in law, Kenneth Cravener.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 9 pm on Sunday, June 28th in the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, 724-224-7730 where funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29th, with Reverend R. Cameron Malcolm IV, officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. The FOP will hold police services at 7 pm Sunday evening in the funeral home.
