Mr. Jack R. Maurer
of Natrona Heights, PA
Jack R. Maurer, 80, of Natrona Heights, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Harmar Village, Harmar, PA.
Jack was born on May 12, 1933 in the Erie, PA to the late Roland S. and Marie Raid Maurer. He worked as a Metallurgical Engineer at Allegheny Ludlum Research in Brackenridge for over 45 years. He was a very active member of the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and deacon. He was actively involved as a Scout Master, Cub Leader and Assistant Scout Master of Troop 395 of the Boy Scouts of America for over 50 years. He was active in many social and professional organizations. He was an avid reader and he traveled the world for both business and pleasure. He was greatly loved by his family, friends and associates, and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Delphine M. Burton Maurer; his children: Lorie (Jay) Woloszynski, Melissa (Albert) Fritschie and Melinda (David) Nikolaevich; 5 grandchildren: Erica, Alex and Kevin Woloszynski, Keith Nikolaevich and Hunter Fritschie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730). Service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church, 1428 Broadview Blvd., Natrona Heights, PA 15065, with the Reverend R.
