Howard R. Ruediger
Of Natrona Heights, PA

Howard R. Ruediger, 85, of Natrona Heights passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Monday Jan. 6, 2014 in Allegheny Valley Hospital.  His second wife Clara Szymkowiak Schott Ruediger died at 10:35 on Monday Jan. 6, 2014.  He was born February 26, 1928 in Tarentum, the son of the late Karl and Minnie Kramer Ruediger.  Howard retired from the Clearview Water Authority and PNC Bank, both in Harrison Township.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Natrona Heights and a life member of VFW Post 894 in Natrona Heights.  Howard was an Army veteran serving with the Company G 5th Battalion Service Command Unit in Japan at the end of World War II and was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal.  He is survived by six step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.    He was preceded in death by his first wife Lois Schweitzer Ruediger a son, David Ruediger in 2010, his seven brothers Richard, Melvin, James, Wilfred, Robert, William, and Karl Ruediger and three sisters Wilma Kuzak, Leona Bark, and Vera Sterling.  

Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday at the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA  15065 (724-224-7730), where parting prayers will be at 9:30 AM on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 11th and Carolina Street, Natrona Heights, PA 15065, with the Reverend  , officiating.   Burial will follow at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
