Homer L. EspeyOf New Kensington, PAHomer L. Espey, 89, of New Kensington, PA, died on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Cedars Hospice of Monroeville.Mr. Espey was born on May 18, 1921 in Rural Valley, PA to the late Homer E. and Bessie E. Boyer Espey. He was an elevator operator at PPG in Creighton retiring in 1974 after 30 years of service. He loved spending time fishing, gardening and woodworking. Until his health began to fail the last couple of years he enjoyed walking to K-Mart every day and meeting friends at the donut shop. He is survived by his niece: Nancy (Richard) Bayne Cappello; his nephew's wife Michelle Bayne; a grand nephew: Matthew (Tammie) Bayne and a grand niece: Kelly (Damien) Heakins and several great grand nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister: Virginia Bayne; his brother: Berton Espey; his nephew: Dale Bayne; and his great grand nephew: Owen Bayne.Family and friends are invited from 6-8 PM on Tuesday in the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951).
