Mrs. Helen K. Vernam

of Brackenridge, PA

Helen K. (Bartosovic) Vernam, 94, of Brackenridge, PA, died at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 13, 2021.  Helen was born in Brackenridge, PA on Friday, March 11, 1927 to the late Teofil and Julia (Kovacosky) Bartosovic.  She lived in Largo and Ocala, FL for 25 years before moving back to PA.  She worked as an office clerk for the former wear ever Division of Alcoa, New Kensington.  She also worked as a Credit Reporter for the former Simmermon Credit Bureau of New Kensington and as an Admitting Registrar for Morton F Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL.  She was a member of the Guardian Angels Parish-Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights, PA, the Ambassador’s Senior Club and the Tarentum Elks #644.  Helen enjoyed her family, reading, playing cards, computer work and working in her flower garden. Helen is survived by her children: Dorothy Rogers of Brackenridge, PA, and Diane (Daniel) Chambon of Glendale, AZ. Her stepchildren: Kathleen (Melvyn) Eckhaus of Elliotsburg, PA, Jon (Laurie) Vernam of Cory, PA, Donald (Jennifer) Vernam of Milwaukie, OR. Her grandchildren: Bryant Raymond, Heather Morgan, Jeremiah (Natalie) Morgan, Jeremiah (Chauntelle) Eckhaus, Nathaniel (Pauline) Eckhaus, Jennika (Jon) Borger, Rebekka (Jano) Eckhaus, Alanna (Jeff) Turner, Kristin (Adam) Hough, Garth(Felicia), Daniel and Caleb Vernam. Her great grandchildren: Seth and Cole Raymond; Austin and Colton Hargenrader; Fallyn and Kaedyn Morgan; Annaliese and Eliana Eckhaus; Jacqueline Eckhaus; Andrew “AJ”, AnnaMarie and Charles Borger; Aizokai, Rein and Alexander Eckhaus; London and Brody Turner and Harlow and Luca Hough also a Niece: Leah Borland and other nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John Richard Vernam (May 26, 2000); her brothers: Francis and Joseph Bartosovic; her sisters:  Irene Scople, Margaret Gibson and Rosemary Peters a granddaughter: Rebecca Raymond and her special friend: Bruce Hummel.

As per Helen’s wishes she was cremated.  A memorial mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights.  Burial will take place in the National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL where her husband is buried.
