Carson, 100, of New Kensington, PA, died on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, PA.Mrs. Carson was born on July 19, 1910 in Johnetta, PA to the late John E. and Margaret McKelvey Stanley. She had worked at a glass company in West Virginia and also at the Alcoa Wearever Building. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, crocheting and gardening. She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Pulk of Carthage, ME, Margaret (Robert) Robinson of Upper Burrell, PA, Ronald Carson of Georgia and David (Karen) Carson of Springdale and her great grandson Joel Randall who she raised from infancy to adulthood before he moved to Florida; 27 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren; and a sister in law: Martha Stanley of Dearborn, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: George E. Carson (1966); her children: John E. Carson, William H. Carson, Charles E. Carson, Raymond Carson, Paul Carson, Dorothy M. Spana and Shirley A. Carson; her grandchildren: Charlotte Carson Allshouse, George Pulk and David Carson and 2 in infancy and twin great grandchildren: Steven and Samuel Sorch and 4 brothers: Truman, Harry, George and Cecil Stanley.Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday in the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951), where services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday with Kathy Shirey, officiating.
