Ethel May CarsonFormerly of New Kensington, PAEthel May Carson, 93, of Verona, PA formerly of New Kensington, died on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Longwood at Oakmont Health Care Center, PA. Mrs. Carson was born on Sunday, May 27, 1917 in Harwick, PA to the late Walter and Mildred Crawford Marshall. After graduation from Springdale High School she worked as a secretary at Alcoa in their Wear-Ever Pots and Pans Division. In 1941 she married her husband, Fred S. Carson, who preceded her in death on November 26, 1994 after 53 years of marriage. A longtime resident of New Kensington she moved to Longwood at Oakmont in 2002. She is survived by her sons: Bruce M. (Karen) Carson of Mission Viejo, CA and James F. (Marnie) Carson of Menlo Park, CA; 4 grandchildren: Keith Carson, Megan Kirk, Drew Carson and Katie Carson; and 3 great grandchildren; a brother: Stan Marshall of Tallahassee, FL and a sister: Roxy Krumpe of Longwood at Oakmont. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. The family is asking everyone to join them at a memorial service at Longwood at Oakmont Chapel, 500 Route 909, Verona, PA 15147 on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Jim Craig and Reverend Bramwell Kjellgren, officiating.
