Esther M. Bortzof New Kensington, PAEsther M. Bortz, 97, of New Kensington, PA. Died on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at UPMC-St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Mrs. Bortz was born on October 2, 1912 in Pittsford, NY, to the late Wade and Zetta Snyder Summerville. She worked as a clerk for the W. T. Grant Store in Lower Burrell. She was a member of the St. Joseph Church of New Kensington. She is survived by her children: Daryl Bortz of New Kensington and Jean (Jerry) Leech of Melbourne, FL; 2 grandchildren: Erin (Justin) Perona and Jason (Tina) Leech and a great granddaughter: Alyssa Perona, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Orville Walter Bortz (1977) and 2 sisters. The family held a private visitation at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15058 (724-335-1951). A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Church at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 3, 2010 (EVERYONE IS ASKED TO MEET AT THE CHURCH).
