Ernest A. Horning, 92, of Natrona Heights, PA, died on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Platinum Ridge Center, Brackenridge, PA. Ernie was born in Natrona Heights, PA on January 19, 1928 to the late Louis A. and Estelle Tiso Horning.  He was a graduate of Har-Brack High School class of 1947.  He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army.  He worked at the family store Horning’s Super Market, Natrona Heights. He was a member of the Guardian Angels Parish-Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Ernie enjoyed watching football and playing golf.  Ernie is survived by his wife of 67 years: Elizabeth (Vasil) Horning; his children: Jane (Dan) McCowan of Arrington, TN, Denise (Gary) Baugh of Bluffton, SC, Ernest J. (Brenda) Horning of Mechanicsburg, PA and Dan (Donna) Horning of Woodbridge, VA; 9 grandchildren and a brother: Joseph T. Horning of Natrona Heights, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Louis Horning.

There will be a private family viewing at the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730), where a parting prayer service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 PM at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 800 Montana Avenue, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 with the Reverend John B.
