Dorothy (Meanor) Lindquist Acquaviva

Formerly of Natrona Heights, PA

Dorothy (Meanor) Lindquist Acquaviva, 91, formerly of Natrona Heights, PA, went home to be with her Lord surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Concordia Lutheran Homes, Cabot, PA.  Dorothy was born on March 13, 1931 in Oakmont, PA to the late Clifford and Ethel Scott Meanor. She graduated from Oakmont High School class of 1949 and went on to get her nursing degree to become an RN from Presbyterian Hospital. She worked at Allegheny Valley Hospital and worked as a personal nurse at Highlands High School.  She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Tarentum where she sang in the choir.  Dorothy enjoyed singing in the Baker’s Dozen group and the Memories Choir.  She was a member of the New Kensington Civic Theater where she sang and acted.  Dorothy also was 1st violinist of the New Kensington Symphony Orchestra and 1st violinist of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra. Her violin was just one of the many instruments that she played during her lifetime.  She enjoyed cooking, needle work, playing cards in her Ladies Bridge and Poker Clubs.  She loved being with her family especially her grandchildren and spending her winters in Ft. Myers, FL. Dorothy is survived by her children: Kathy (Frank) Basilone of Naples, FL & Wheeling, WV; Karen Lindquist of Pittsburgh, PA; Kimberly Lindquist of Lower Burrell, PA and Jonathan (Jeannette) Lindquist of Cold Spring, NY; her step-daughter: Lisa (Wayne) Linden of Lower Burrell, PA; 4 grandchildren: Brianne (Tyler) Basilone McCarthy, Ryan Olszewski, Brooke Basilone and Daniel Olszewski; 3 step grandchildren: Alycia (Chris) Linden Zilka, Christopher (Lilly) Linden and Amanda Linden; 2 great grandchildren: Declan and Moira McCarthy and 2 step great grandchildren: Brayden and Addison Zilka. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband: Glenn H. Lindquist, Jr.; her second husband: Carl J. Acquaviva and her 2 sisters: Louise Manherz and Jeanne McElhose.

Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730).  Services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the First United Presbyterian Church, PO Box 2, 913 Lock Street, Tarentum, PA  15084 with the Reverend Philip A. Beck, officiating (everyone is asked to please meet at the church).  Burial will be held privately at Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, PA.
