Doris E. Rankinof Natrona Heights, PADoris E. Rankin,93 , of Natrona Heights, PA, died on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.Mrs. Rankin was born on September 30, 1919 in Tarentum, PA to the late William H. and Elsie M. Curley Stickley. She lived in the Natrona Heights area until moving to Rosebrook Assisted Living in Sarver 2 years ago. She was a graduate of Tarentum High School and a member of the Central Presbyterian Church of Tarentum. She enjoyed bird watching, playing cards and indoor and outdoor gardening. She especially loved being around her family.She is survived by her children: Kenneth R. Rankin of Elderton, PA, Charles L. (Leslie) Rankin of Penn Hills, Robert D. (Lavonne) Rankin of Slate Lick, Donald L. (Ann) Rankin of Watsonvillle, CA and David M. Rankin and partner Brian E. Davies of Natrona Heights; her daughter in law: Claudia Rankin of Lower Burrell; her 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and her brother: Walter (Jean) Stickley of New Kensington and her sister: Wilma Thomas of New Kensington.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Lawrence H. Rankin (July 14, 1982); her son: Alan P. Rankin and her sister: Audrey Vrotney.Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Monday to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA (724-224-7730), where services will be at 11 AM on Tuesday with the Reverend Thomas Clifton, officiating.
