Doris Marie McVayof Lower Burrell, PADoris Marie McVay, 81, of Lower Burrell, died on December 26, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, PA. She was born on April 27, 1930 in New Kensington, PA, to the late Albert H. and Clara Leatherwood Michel. Doris was a 1948 graduate of the New Kensington High School. She was a secretary at PPG Industries, Springdale, PA in the Coatings and Resins Division, retiring in 1980 after 10 years of service. Prior to working at PPG she worked at Braeburn Steel in the Wear Ever Building. She was a charter member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Lower Burrell. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, bridge clubs and dancing.She is survived by her husband of 59 years: Donald E. McVay; 2 daughters: Janice (Robert) Mazur of Summerville, SC and Darcy (Daniel) Cochran of O'hara Township; 5 grandchildren: Robert Mazur, Jr, Joy Mazur Rogge, Donna Pacelli Chang, Paul Pacelli and Diana Pacelli and 3 great-grandchildren: twins Andrew and Zachary Mazur and Catherine Mazur. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: James D. Michel. Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 7-9 Wednesday at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951). Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the BETHEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 150 Alder Street, Lower Burrell, PA 15068 (EVERYONE IS ASKED TO MEET AT THE CHURCH) with the Reverend Paul Taylor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA.
