Donald Rowe Obituary

Donald Lewis Rowe

of Saxonburg, PA

Donald L. Rowe, 96, passed peacefully into the heavenly embrace of his Lord and Savior surrounded by family at Magnolia Place of Saxonburg Hospice on February 16, 2023.  He was born in 1926 and graduated Ken High School in 1943 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 and served during World War II.  He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Jean Neyman Rowe. Together they resided in Natrona Heights and Saxonburg where he owned and operated Don Rowe Masonry, and where he and Jean raised their two children, son Tracy and daughter Erin. Don was a proud WWII Navy Veteran and wore his USA Naval hat everyday with pride for his country. He was an active member of Pollock Mason Lodge 502 and the Shrine Motor Court and was a faithful participant in his United Methodist Men’s Bible Study group. He loved family and especially his four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Don enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies at the local gas station, and delighted in attending antique car shows and gatherings. He loved watching Pittsburgh Pirates baseball and immensely enjoyed the countless gatherings with family. He marveled at fishing and was always up for playing golf anywhere with family.  He is survived by a son: Tracy (Debbie) Rowe, of Saxonburg, PA and a daughter Erin (John) Brown, of Punta Gorda, FL; four grandchildren including Chase (Jocelyn) Rowe, of Valencia, PA; and Marisa (Shane) Jakubovic, of Valencia, PA; Emerson (Nate) Graves, of Marquette, MI; and Ellery Graves, of Oakland, CA along with seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife who died on 7/6/2018; his brothers: Francis, Edwin and Harry Rowe; and his sister: Wanda Crawford.
