Donald F. Allen, Sr.of Lower Burrell, PADonald F. Allen, Sr., 82, of Lower Burrell, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at UPMC-St. Margaret Hospital, Aspinwall, PA. Donald was born on October 21, 1930 in New Kensington, PA. to the late Frank W. and Virginia Patton Allen. He worked as a steel worker for Union Spring of New Kensington retiring in 1985 after 37 years. He at one time attended the United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington.He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Ethel Jean Fester Allen; his children: Donald F. (Susan) Allen, Jr. of Buffalo Township and Sharon L. (Dan) Ihlenfeld of Saxonburg and his 3 grandchildren: Kelsie Allen and her fiancé: Brok Leda, Lexi Allen and Zach Allen and his beloved dog: Shannon.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Jean Klingensmith.Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951).
