Dariell C. Erskine

Dariell C. Erskine, 88, of West Deer Township, died at home on Tuesday, December 16, 2014.
He was born in Anstead, WV on 12-16-1926 to the late James W. and Edith Burns Erskine. Dariell worked at Allegheny Ludlum 42 years, retiring in 1987.  He belonged to Masonic Lodge, Pollock Lodge #502; Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh; Orient Royal Arch Chapter, Duquesne Commandry; Syria Shrine; Shrine Motor Corps; and Hillbilly Clan 53.  He was a driver for the Syria Road Runners who drive children to Shriner’s hospitals.  He was a member of the Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church, West Deer Township.   Dariell traveled to all 50 U.S. states with his wife, who had never been out of PA.  They also saw much of Canada and the Caribbean, and some of Mexico and South America.
Preceded in Death by his wife, Violet (Stewart) Erskine; his parents listed above; Sister Louise Heberling; and brothers: Charles, James, Robert, Herman and Jack.  
Survived by Sisters Virginia (Jan) Nicholson, Barbara (Harry) Arbuthnot, and Nancy (Bill) Lowe, TN; Sisters-in-laws Lorraine and Carole Erskine; Children William (Linda) Erskine, Jennie (Michael) Freidhof, and Jeffrey Erskine, NC; and Grandchildren Katie Erskine (Doug Snyder), Ashley (Charlie) King, NC, and Nicole Erskine, NC.  
Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 7-9 on Thursday, December 18 to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA  15065 (724-224-7730) where services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday with the Reverend John Gehring-Anders, officiating.  Private burial will follow at the Pleasant Unity Cemetery, West Deer Township.
