Conrad E. Hoover, Sr.Formerly of Arnold, PAConrad E. Hoover, Sr., 78, died on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.Conrad was born April 3, 1934 in Brackenridge, PA to the late George and Evelyn Thompson Hoover. He lived the past seven months of his life at Juniper Village in North Huntingdon, PA where they took excellent care of him. Before moving he lived 47 years in Arnold, PA. He was a veteran in the Army serving in the Korean War. He worked at Union Springs until they closed. He then worked at Penn Builders in Tarentum and retired from Burrell Constructions in New Kensington. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Natrona where he served on the church council for a few years. He was a member of the New Kensington Eagles, he was a fireman of Arnold #2 Fire Department and served one year as the Fire Chief. Our father 'Conrad' was an extremely energetic and fun person. He had a huge sense of humor and loved to laugh. He loved dancing and singing and did both very well. For many years he enjoyed going to his camp. He enjoyed his dart league at the New Kensington Eagles. One of the things he loved the most was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will re-unite once again with our loving mother. There will forever be another ache and void in our hearts, but we are not saying goodbye, because we will all be together again. He is survived by his children: Conrad E. (Diana) Hoover, Jr. of Arnold, PA, Michael A. (Raylene) Hoover of Arnold, PA, Lisa A. (Mark) Sydorick of Gilpin Township, PA and Brenda L. (Keith) York of New Kensington; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and his siblings: Regis (Nancy) Hoover of Kansas, George (Lucy) Hoover of Arnold, Leroy 'Pete' Hoover of New Kensington, Ronald (Kathy) Hoover of Natrona Heights, Ruth Miller of Lower Burrell and June (Chester) Hetrick of Natrona Heights.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Mary E. Rhoades Hoover (Jan. 27, 2008); Infant daughter: Linda Diana Hoover and a grandson: Mark Sydorick. Family and friends are invited from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Sunday at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951), where services will at 11:00 AM on Monday with the Reverend Gary Koch, officiating.
