Clara Szymkowiak Schott Ruediger, 89, of Natrona Heights passed away at 10:35 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 in Highland Genesis Health Care Center.  Her second husband, Howard Ruediger, preceded her in death at 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 6, 2014.  She was born December 15, 1924 in Natrona, the daughter of the late Andrew and Blanche Przygoda Szymkowiak.  Clara was a homemaker and lived in Natrona and Natrona Heights her entire life.  She was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Natrona Heights.  Surviving are a daughter, Susan Knox and husband Dan of Tarentum, and son Glenn Schott and wife Karen of Natrona Heights.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, Louis (Donis) Prignon of Allegheny Township, Gayle (Jason) McLaughlin of Pittsburgh, Glenn Schott, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Sarah Schott of Brackenridge, Jonathan (Christina) Schott of Pittsburgh, and Katherine (Phillip) Semplice of Pittsburgh, five great-grandchildren, Gabriella Prignon, Marissa Prignon, Emery Schott, Gavin McLaughlin, and Vincent Semplice, sister, Theresa Weleski of Cabot and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald H. (Bud) Schott, who she married in 1948.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings Mary Rutkowski, Steve Szymkowiak, Jenny Rutkowski, Chester Szymkowiak, Stella Szewzcak, Leonard Szymkowiak, Julia Masarik, and Violet Jendry.  

Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday at the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA  15065 (724-224-7730), where parting prayers will be at 9:30 AM on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 11th and Carolina Street, Natrona Heights, PA 15065, with the Reverend , officiating.   Burial will follow at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.  For on line condolences please visit us at www.petersfamilyfuneralhomes.com
