Clara K. (Loos) Eastland

Clara K. (Loos) Eastland, 83, of New Kensington, PA died unexpectedly at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, January 27, 2025 just 14 days after her husband Bob passed away.  Clara was born on Friday, September 26, 1941 in New Kensington to the late William B. and Clara T. (Kearney) Loos.  

Clara graduated from Ken High School Class of 1959 and went on to become a surgical technician working at St. Margaret Hospital.  Clara eventually met Robert Eastland whom she would marry, and stayed at home raising their large, blended family.  Clara was a member of the Logans Ferry Presbyterian Church, New Kensington.  She enjoyed watching football and baseball and playing solitaire on her cell phone, reading books and crocheting, but what she really enjoyed was being around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.       

Clara is survived by her children: Donald (Melissa) Rakowski, Jr., Kathryn (Daniel) Aller, Sue Ann (Gordan) Grandstaff, Bob (Martha) Eastland, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Eastland, Debbie Coleman, and Sherry Holloman; her grandchildren: Jesse and Jersey O’Connor, Michael, Markie, Matthew, Eric, Desiree, Bradley and Tim; Great Granddaughter: Sienna Green along with 15 more great grandchildren;  and a brother: William (Nycha) Loos and her sister in laws: Carol (Doug) Morrison and Joan Eastland and her special friends: Stacy Rivera and Oona (Renee) Anderson.

In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husbands: Robert K. Eastland (01/13/25) and Donald L. Rakowski, Sr.; her sons: Mark and Timmy Eastland; and her grandchildren: Jason and Nickolas.

Family and friends are invited from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025 to the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951) where services will start at 4:00 PM with the Reverend Tim Sweigert, officiating.   Burial will be held privately at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA.
