Arthur G. Burns, 89, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, September 12, 2022, at St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Arthur was born on August 15, 1933 in Smithton, PA to the late George and Rosella Kelly Burns. Arthur was a custodian for the Plum Borough School District retiring at the age of 62 ½. He was a member of the Logans Ferry Presbyterian Church. He was a lifetime member of the Verona Eagles, Logans Ferry Volunteer Fire Department and the 7th Street Sportsmans Club, a social member of the Kinloch Fire Department, he was president of REAC of the Eagles Club in Verona, he volunteered at the YMCA for the Indian Guide and Princess Program and was a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, western shows and selling fundraiser tickets for various organizations. He was an avid fan of the Steelers and the PGA. Arthur is survived by his children, Judy (Terry) Thompson of Cabot, Karen (William) Campbell of New Kensington, and Eric (Lisa) Burns of Meridian, ID; 6 grandchildren, Terry (Fiancé: Robin Schmeider) Thompson, Jr., Melissa (Cameron) Eisenhauer, Hannah Campbell, Andrew Burns, Billy Campbell, and Rachel Burns; and a brother: Robert Burns of Ohio; two step-granddaughters, Marcie (Kenny) Bodzenski and Jodi (Michael) Fulmer; and four step-great-grandchildren, Molly and Adam Bodzenski and Maddy and Katie Fulmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Nancy J. (Hawker) Burns (9/10/2019); a son: David Burns and a brother: Joseph Burns. Family and Friends are invited from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, where a service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
