Annetta R. (Ross) Magliocco, 96, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully at Westminster Place in Oakmont on Monday, April 30, 2018.
Annetta was born Tuesday, August 9, 1921 in New Kensington. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Marian (Tamburo) Ross and lived her whole life in the area.
Annetta was a stenographer for Alcoa during World War II and worked in the cafeteria of the Burrell School District for 23 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member, for 83 years, of the United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington where she served as a deacon for several years. She also belonged to the Sewing and Quilting Ladies of her church and helped at many mercy meals. Annetta volunteered for 25 years at Health South Harmarville Rehabilitation Hospital. She enjoyed reading, collecting stamps, and gardening, but loved spending time with her family and attending the annual Ross Family Reunion on the 4th of July for the past 71 years.
Annetta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a kind, wonderful person who will be missed by many.
Annetta is survived by her daughter, Janet (Dennis) Donati of Lower Burrell; grandson Matthew (Monica) Donati and great grandsons, Nicholas and Ethan Donati, all of Macungie; sister-in-law, Helen Kasper; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Nick Magliocco in 1982; brothers, Frank, Joseph, and William V. Ross; and sisters Sarah Pisano and Josephine Brown.
Family and friends will be received from 3 – 6 PM on Thursday, May 3, at CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951). The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 4, at the United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington, 601 Fifth Avenue (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Private burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park.
