Althea Ruth Troutman, 94, of Pittsburgh, PA, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Southwestern Veterans Center, Pittsburgh, PA.

Althea was born on October 10, 1920 in New Kensington, PA to the late George and Sophie Dohman Caperell.  She attended the Greater Pittsburgh Guild for the Blind and the Hadley School for the Blind. She worked at Siegels Clothing and the Blawnox Steel Mill during World War II. She was a member of the Pine Rune United Presbyterian Church, Markle, PA.     

She is survived by her daughter: Karla Ruth (Arthur T.) Miller of Apollo, PA; her grandchildren: Shane L. Miller and Shannon L. Fields; her great grandchildren: Alanna M. Miller, Garrett T. Miller, Trevor L. Miller, Austen J. Fields and Piper L. Fields; and her sister: Jean E. Marcu of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Carl Lyle Troutman (2007).

Family and friends are invited from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 8 at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA  15068 (724-335-1951) where services will immediately follow at 11:30 AM with the Reverend Lanny Mellinger, officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA.
