Albert K. Lauer

Albert “Al” Kenneth. Lauer, 86, of Cabot, PA, formerly of Lower Burrell, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, PA.  He was born on November 5, 1927 in Natrona Heights, PA to the late Albert F. and E. Verne Claypoole Lauer.

Al was a veteran serving in the Army during WW II. He was an office supervisor at Allegheny Ludlum retiring in 1990 after 44 years of service. He was a member of the Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lower Burrell.  He was also a member of #789 Bethel Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite of Pittsburgh and the Syria Shrine of Harmar Twp., where he was a member of the Brass Band as a percussionist. He enjoyed golf, gardening, feeding the birds, traveling, music and spending winters in Myrtle Beach. He especially enjoyed being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Shirley A. (Lukehart) Lauer; his children: Lisa A.(John Kavanagh) Lauer of Winter Park, FL and Lori A.(Randy) Robinson of Wooster, OH. His grandchildren: Matthew Lauer Robinson and Kirsten Nicole Robinson. His brother in law: Don H. (Carla) Lukehart. His nieces and nephews: Donald Kraeer, Scott (Melissa) Lukehart, Douglas Lukehart, Marilyn (David) Gilkey, Nick (Debby) Aretz and Fred Maeder and his great nephew: Andrew J. Lukehart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters: Marjorie Aretz and Jeanne Maeder.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 11 AM on Thursday, May 15, at the Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3084 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA with the Reverend Elaine M.
