Albert F. Himesof New Kensington, PAAlbert F. Himes, 93, died on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.Albert was born July 2, 1918 in New Kensington, PA to the late Charles R. and Olive R. Rupert Himes. He was a graduate of Ken High class of 1936. He was a veteran in the Army during WW II serving in the Pacific Theatre. He worked for Alcoa as a shipper retiring in 1980 after 44 years of service. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ of New Kensington where he was a former Sunday School Superintendent, served as an elder and a deacon. He was a member of the 25 year club at Alcoa, he was a long time member of the Parnassus Civic League serving as the treasurer and he also enjoyed camping. He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Helen M. Boyer Himes; 2 sons: C. Ray Himes of New Kensington and Glenn (Aleta) Himes of South Buffalo Township; 3 grandchildren: Christy (Pete) Gregori, Faith (Vic) Colen and Steven (Cindy) Himes and 9 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter in law: Ruth Faulds Himes. Family and friends are invited from 2- 4 and 6-8 PM on Monday and 10-11 AM on Tuesday at the CHURCHFIELD-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 501 Fifth Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068 (724-335-1951), where services will start at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Joe Kiewra, officiating.
