Ruth L. Snyder Garris, 85, of Brackenridge, PA, went to be with her lord and savior on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, PA.

Ruth was born in Sharpsburg, PA on February 9, 1933 to Eugene McKane and Ruth Lucille Oldendorf Snyder. Ruth graduated from Shaler High School class of 1951. She worked as a special education teacher’s aide for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit working for a time at the Heights Elementary School retiring in 1986 after 18 years of service. She was a member of the Natrona Heights, Presbyterian Church where she faithfully attended Bible study and a small prayer group. She volunteered at Allegheny Valley Hospital and Applewood Personal Care Home and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, adult coloring and playing games on her Kindle.

Ruth is survived by her children: Lynda (Gerald) Moore of Upper Burrell Township and Bobbi Jo Garris of Brackenridge; 3 grandchildren: Scott (Kristi) Moore, Gregory (Liz Morrison) Moore and Adam (Brandi) Moore; 7 great grandchildren: Anika, Jovianah, Remington, Emmett, Peyton, Greyson and Jenna; 2 sisters: Dolly Beattie of Cabot, PA and Eileen (Dick Lindsay) Seitz of Dillon, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Robert J. Garris (Nov. 11, 1989) and 3 children: twin sons: Robert and James Garris and a daughter: Nancy Garris.

Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, January 27, 2019 to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730), where services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 28, 2019 with the Reverend Dan Muttert, officiating.
