Mary Ellen Austin, 91, of Buffalo Township, PA died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Sugar Creek Rest Home, Worthington, PA.

Mary was born on July 20, 1926 in Natrona Heights, PA to the late Earl and Margaret Diniger Hetrick. Mary worked as a Post Office worker at the Natrona Heights Post Office retiring after 40 years of service.  She was a member of the St. Mary, Mother of God, Freeport, PA. Mary enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her son, James L. Austin of Shawmut, MT; 4 grandchildren: Clinton Austin, Angela Austin, Christopher Austin and Clayton Austin; 3 great grandchildren; her brother, Calvin (Mary Ann) Hetrick of Buffalo Township, PA and her daughter-in-law, Deloris Austin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: John L. Austin (Nov. 20, 1995), her 2 sons: Kirk D. Austin and John T. Austin; and her siblings: Leon Hetrick, Alice Johnson and Jean Carson.

Family and friends are invited from 6-8 PM on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the  ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730).  Where a Blessing Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 with Father Ronald Maquinana, officiating.  Private burial will follow at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, PA.
