Jack Sirwell Smith, 75, of Tarentum, PA passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in his home.
Jack was born on Saturday, June 7, 1941 to the late Jack and Mariam (Sasuta) Smith. Jack graduated from Har-Brack High School Class of 1959 and went to join the military, becoming a proud veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Jack worked as a window clerk at the Tarentum Post Office until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and a life member of the Tarentum Elks. Jack thoroughly enjoyed cooking, working around the house, and the companionship of his cats.
Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 22 years, Theodora M. “Teddy” Venesky Smith; his brother, Thomas Smith of TN; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Amsler.
Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, December 26, 2016 to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730). Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1500 Broadview Blvd., Natrona Heights, PA 15065 with Rev. Barbara Ravenstahl officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, 1898 Bakerstown Rd., Tarentum, PA 15084. Military honors will be accorded by the Tarentum VFW.
