Dean M. Barr, 59, of Brackenridge, PA died on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in his home.
Dean was born on Thursday, August 28, 1958 in Natrona Heights to the late Eugene and Thelma (Fleming) Barr. He was a graduate of Highlands High School Class of 1976 and an attendant of Forbes Road East. After school, Dean and his brother Dan continued their father’s legacy by running the family business, E.L. Barr and Sons. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Tarentum. Dean’s pride and joy was his son Ryan. They loved spending time together doing just about anything. He and his wife enjoyed going to the Elks with friends and family. Dean was a great man who will be sadly missed by anyone who knew him, but especially his family.
Dean is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tracy (Cable) Barr; his son, Ryan Barr (girlfriend Robin Cebula); his step-daughter, Nicole Killian-McCrea (Cristin); his siblings, Dave (Loretta) Barr of Scott Twp., Dan (Kim) Barr of Brackenridge, and Pam (Dan) White of New Kensington; his mother-in-law, Sandy Holderbaum; his father-in-law, Richard (Lois) Cable; and many nieces and nephews who enjoyed his words of wisdom over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730). A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the First United Presbyterian Church, 913 Lock St, Tarentum, PA 15084 with the Rev. Philip Beck presiding (EVERYONE MEET AT CHURCH). Private burial will follow at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Tarentum Elks to meet at 1:45PM Sunday, Feb. 4 at the funeral home for a service.
