Carole J. (Smith) Gildner, 75, of Natrona Heights, PA, died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.   

Carole was born on Tuesday, January 20, 1942 in Natrona Heights to the late Paul and Ida (Bicker) Smith.  Carole worked as a secretary for PPG Creighton before dedicating her life to her family.  She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Tarentum where she served as deacon and elder and the Harrison Hills Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  Carole was a nursery man’s daughter who cared for flowers.  She also enjoyed taking mission trips with her church and being a caregiver to her family; she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and animals.

Carole is survived by her husband of 57 years, Art W. Gildner; 4 children, Michelle (Ken) Misejka of Tarentum, Scott (Lori Lynn) Gildner of Brackenridge, Tiffany (William) Hooks of Natrona Heights, and Tanya Gildner of Natrona Heights; 8 grandchildren, Kayla (Brandon) Misejka Vallies, Ashlee and Nicole Misejka, Douglas and Samantha Gildner, Courtney and Taylor Orr, and Declan Ciancaglione; 2 great-grandchildren, Brody Vallies and Cadance Borland; a sister, Marilynn K. (Nick) Grant of Ortonville, MI, and her nephew, Travis Grant.    

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark David Gildner and her grandson, Matthew John Gildner.   

Family and friends are invited from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, November 26, 2017 to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA (724-224-7730).  Services will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church, 913 Lock St, Tarentum, PA, on Monday, November 27 at 11 AM with Rev.
